5 Fun Cat-Friendly Activities to Enjoy This Summer

Friendly Activities to Enjoy This Summer

Now that the weather is warm and nice, it's the perfect time to get your cat involved in some outdoor activities. From hiking to swimming, there are plenty of activities that both you and your cat can enjoy. Here are a few of my favourites:

  • Go cat-walking
Cats love exploring, would it be the wilderness or their neighbourhood. Once your cat gets used to the leash and harness, they can be your little mini-me anywhere you go in nature, and you can see beautiful scenery with them! So, prepare them beforehand by following our harness training guide, and then you're good to go. Check out our walk kits in beautiful patterns like Meadow, Blue Rainbow, and Lavender Plaid.
  • Book a cottage vacation
And bring your cat! I always bring my cats anytime I go to a cottage. I make sure it's pet-friendly, load the babies up with their essentials and you're ready to go. They get used to the house in about two hours and then they are super comfortable. Of course, it is cat dependent, but I'd truly recommend trying it! A trip outdoors will do wonders by helping alleviate anxiety issues while giving our furry friends much-needed exercise. Gotta love those active felines :) Don't forget to pack portable bowls and their favorite toys!
  • Play hide and seek, between the trees
When I'm outside reading a book and want to bring my cats, I love to attach a long leash to a sliding cable so that they can explore in all safety and take in the sun. And when I want to play with them, I just hide behind a tree, and they just go nuts for it. A sliding rope is really a great fit if you have a backyard, it's safe and cats love it! Our walk kits come with durable leashes perfect for outdoor adventures.
  • Take a trip to the beach
Not all cats love water, but not all cats hate it either! My Benjamin loves water, while Teddy can't stand the sight of it. So, I love bringing them to the beach, where Teddy can securely stay away from water and Benjamin can dip his paws. Make sure your cat wears a collar with ID tags for safety in new environments.
  • Take a road trip
Road trips are always more fun with a feline friend! Just make sure to bring along all the necessary supplies, like food, water, and litter.
  • Option B: Get him some house plants and sun!
For those who live in cities and prefer not having their animals outside, there is always a way for them to stay entertained. Have an indoor window where they'll be able to catch rays while watching birds fly by or houseplants grow on sunny days without ever needing to go outside at all-just make sure they are non-toxic plants so as not to risk injuries due to poisoning. Keep them entertained indoors with interactive toys and a cozy bed by the window.
